Both boys head coach Chris O’Connor and girls head coach Leah Krautter were honored as 3A KingCo coaches of the year for the 2011-12 season. Krautter shared the honor on the girls side with Lake Washington head coach Cory Shepard.

O’Connor led the boys back to the conference tournament title game for the fourth straight year and Krautter rallied her team from a middling regular season finish to KingCo champions.

Both are still playing in the Sea-King District II tournament.

Bellevue senior Cole Walton and Sammamish’s George Valle and John Steinberg were both named to the first team and the Wolverines’ Timmy Haehl was a second team selection. Walton also earned Defensive Player of the Year honors.

Sam Finfer was the lone representative from Interlake and was on the honorable mention squad along with Jacob West and Dakota Olson of Sammamish.

Bellevue landed a pair on the first team for the girls, with Katie Savard and Kate Holmes both getting the nod.
