Aegis Living will open its newest senior-living community Saturday in Bellevue.
The residence – located at 148 102nd Ave. SE, just off Main Street in Old Bellevue – will be the company’s 14th in the Puget Sound region, and its 34th overall.
The group home will offer 68 assisted-living apartments and 18 additional units to serve people with memory-care issues.
Aegis purchased the property for its Bellevue location in August 2008.

Clark, chairman and CEO of Aegis Living. “Between the views, proximity to the nearby waterfront and the downtown Bellevue shopping district residents could not ask for a better place. The facility will hold a grand opening celebration from 1-4 p.m. today for the community to tour the new facility. Celebrity guest Naomi Judd and CEO Dwayne Clark will be on hand for the event. Judd will be signing her book “Aging Gratefully” at the event.
As part of its offerings, Aegis features its Living 4 Life Program, a wellness program to help seniors maintain a long, healthy and active life. The program is a collaborative effort between the University of Washington School of Medicine, Bastyr University, Dakim and Technogym.
The program combines elements of mind, body, spirit and community including massage therapy and a state-of-the-art fitness center. The longevity program, led by UW School of Medicine senior faculty member, Dr. Claudia Finkelstein, includes classes on healthy aging, nutrition and exercise. Memory care residents will be offered light therapy which Aegis officials say may diminish the affects of depression and dementia.
