Beacon Capital Partners is asking the city of Bellevue to approve construction of its Bellevue Center 2, an 18-story, 295-feet-tall office tower on Northeast Eighth Street.
A second-phase construction project to complement its first Bellevue Center, Bellevue Center 2 is described in documents attached with the city’s weekly permit bulletin to include 430,000 square feet of office space and 3,700 square feet of retail. Beacon’s plans include a 910-stall, below-grade parking garage.
Beacon is aiming for Gold LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification with its Bellevue Center 2 project. The exterior is described as being primarily “aluminum curtainwall with four colors of vision glass above a stone-clad retail and service podium.”
The site is currently a parking lot. Bellevue Center 2 is anticipated to take 23 months to build, with construction starting in early 2016. The Yuen Lui building on the northeast corner of the site will remain.
The office tower is expected to accommodate more than 1,600 employees and include two acres of landscaped garden and plaza. Beacon Capital Partners is the same real estate investment firm behind the Eastgate Office Park, U.S. Bank and Plaza Center and other Bellevue construction projects.
