Bellevue Towers achieves LEED Gold

Bellevue Towers has become the first residential high-rise in the city to receive LEED Gold certification from the U.S. Green Building Council. The facility’s energy use beats industry standards for that facility type by 30 percent.

Bellevue Towers has become the first residential high-rise in the city to receive LEED Gold certification from the U.S. Green Building Council. The facility’s energy use beats industry standards for that facility type by 30 percent.

The one-million square foot building is comprised of two towers – one 42 stories, the other 43 – on a six-story retail podium, as well as 541 residential units.

Bellevue Towers’ sustainable-design features include green roofs, energy-efficient mechanical equipment, rain collection, natural lighting, proximity to transit lines, and recycling of construction waste.

The buildings’ energy-efficient mechanical system takes advantage of the temperate Northwest climate, taking in fresh air and heating only as needed.
