Sponge, a children’s language center, is opening a new Bellevue location and will hold an “Around the World” grand opening event on Oct. 9. The free event, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., will take local families all over the globe with mini language classes, crafts, story time and snacks.

Native-speaking teachers from Sponge will lead classes in Spanish, Mandarin, French and Japanese. The event is geared toward children ages 10 and younger and their families.

The Bellevue location is 13219 N.E. 20th St., Suite 203.
