A new networking organization on the Eastside proves once again that women mean business.
Eastside Women In Business, a networking community for professional like-minded women to promote and grow their business, exchange leads, share ideas, build relationships, explore opportunities and celebrate camaraderie, hosts monthly lunch networking meetings and mixers.
The organization is based on the idea that women achieve more through collaboration than competition. The founders shared the vision of creating a networking group that would allow women to step into a welcoming environment that empowers women in business and fosters growth for professions across the board.
The EWIB welcomes women from all professions whether in real estate, a CEO of a multimillion dollar company, a freelance photographer, or stay-at-home mom.
Founder Christi Meshell, of Stewart Title and Escrow in Kirkland, launched the new networking organization in September with the help of Jennifer Blum, of Coldwell and Banker Bain in Redmond and Lauren Archer, of Positive Control in Woodinville. Meshell desired an organization that would cater to the business woman’s busy lifestyle.
This past summer, Meshell approached Archer with her vision for a new networking group on the Eastside.
“At first, I thought I am way to busy to take on one more challenge, but as I began to listen to her vision and concept for the EWIB I was hooked,” Archer explained, the executive director for the networking organization. “I knew this organization was something I could completely stand behind and be proud to be a part of.”
The EWIB has grown in attendance, rising from 14 women at the first meeting to nearly 50 at a recent luncheon.
Unlike other local organizations, the cost for membership is minimal and attendance is not required, Archer said.
Beyond networking, the EWIB members and volunteers do various charity services for the community throughout the year. For this holiday season, the EWIB adopted a family of four through a local organization.
The next meeting is on Jan. 7 from 12:30 p.m to 2 p.m and will examine “How To Supercharge Your New Year’s Resolutions” presented by guest speaker Lauren Archer, President of Positive Control.
The lunch-style buffet meeting will take place at Toscano’s at The Bellettini (1177 108th Avenue Northeast in Bellevue). Cost per person averages $20 including meal, beverage, dessert, tax and tip. Valet parking is complimentary.
