Nine Eastside businesses are finalists for the 2013 Eastside Business Awards. The Bellevue Chamber of Commerce will announce the winners at a May 6 luncheon from noon to 1:30 at the Westin Bellevue, 600 Bellevue Way.
The awards recognize both large corporations and small business enterprises that uphold a strong commitment to quality, community, and innovation. From large corporations to small business enterprises.
Finalists are:
Eastside Business of the Year – Bensussen Deutsch & Associates, Inc., MulvannyG2 Architecture, and TalkingRain Beverage Company
Eastside Small Business of the Year – Caiman Consulting, Mr. Pressure Wash, and Cardinal Heating & A/C, Inc.
Eastside Startup of the Year – Ryan James Gallery, PetHub, Inc., and 9Slides
Innovative Product of the Year – People’s Choice Award: The event also will showcase companies that have launched a cutting edge, innovative product, software or application. Attendees will get to vote in real time and choose the winner in the category.
Ed Fries, founder of FigurePrints, will be the keynote speaker and discuss the spirit of entrepreneurship within both an established company and a startup.
Fries created Microsoft Game Studios and co-founded the Xbox project, making Microsoft one of the leaders in the interactive entertainment business. He retired from Microsoft in 2004 to continue his work in the video game business as a board member, advisor and consultant to several startups. In 2007 he launched FigurePrints, a company that uses 3D color printing technology to bring video game characters to life.
