The Bravern will add a Best of the Northwest collection to its new facility, including Sur La Table, Eye Society, Dilettante Mocha Cafe and Silberman/Brown Stationers.
The Bravern previously announced Wild Ginger and John Howie Steak restaurants.
Currently under construction in the superblock adjacent to Meydenbauer Center, The Shops at The Bravern are scheduled to open in September 2009, anchored by the Northwest’s first Neiman Marcus store.
“Over 20 percent of The Shops at The Bravern will become local and regionally based merchants,” says spokesman and senior investment director Tom Woodworth. “We are excited to present some of the Northwest’s best retailers alongside other world-class brands. The combination of local and international brands creates a dynamic merchandise mix with strong ties to local customers.”
Specialty cookware retailer Sur La Table will occupy 5,000 square feet at The Bravern. Founded in 1972 with its first location at Pike Place Market, the company now has 70 stores nationwide and four more opening by the end of the year.
“Our heritage is in this region. We’ve been in Seattle since 1972 and in Kirkland since 1995, and we’ve been looking to add a Bellevue location for quite some time,” says CEO Jack Schwefel. “The Bravern is the perfect fit for Sur La Table.”
Eye Society’s Gila and Steve Lehrer will open their eyewear boutique in a new 1,000 square foot location adjacent to Neiman Marcus. Specializing in unique and varied eyewear from around the world, the new facility will feature an on-site lab, exam room, and a private consultation salon (by appointment only).
“The quality and style of this venue matches our way of doing things,” say the owners.
Eye Society has two locations, Bellevue and Mill Creek, and will relocate the Bellevue gallery to The Shops at The Bravern in September, 2009.
Silberman/Brown, a stationery store, will locate next door to Eye Society in 1,000 square feet.
“We pride ourselves on being the best provider of fine paper and other charming paraphernalia connected with the world of writing,” says co-owner Sue Silberman.
A Bellevue institution since 1977, the store prints and engraves stationery for both personal and business use.
Chocolate purveyor Dilettante will relocate its downtown Bellevue Dilettante Mocha Café to 2,400 square feet just off 110th Avenue near the entrance to The Bravern’s arrival court. The beverage menu offered at the cafe will center on The Dilettante Mocha – a traditional mix of espresso from Dilettante’s freshly roasted coffees and real chocolate melted in pots right next to the espresso machine.
“We’ve been looking for an appropriate location for some time and think the quality level of the project and the reputation of the developer match our company well,” says Dilettante CEO Dave Taylor
Dilettante has been creating fine chocolates, coffee beverages and pastries for Seattleites for more than 30 years.
Joining these four new tenants, are Northwest restaurateurs John Howie Steak and Wild Ginger.
John Howie Steak will be the Puget Sound’s first chef-owned steakhouse. Housed in 9,300 square feet, the restaurant will feature a wide variety of steaks and chops as well as an array of fresh seasonal seafood, poultry, vegetables and cheeses.
Wild Ginger will showcase the restaurant’s signature Asian cuisine in a two-story environment that echoes its flagship location in downtown Seattle.
The restaurant will encompass approximately 14,000 square feet on two floors anchoring the project’s southeast corner at 110th Avenue.
