The Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA) Puget Sound Chapter’s educational meeting, “Avoid the Technology Shiny Object Syndrome and Ensure ROI,” will be held on April 10, at Maggiano’s Little Italy in Bellevue.
The session will be led by CEO Tim Goggin, of Sappington, an agency that guides leaders in established companies during times of significant technology changes.
“It might sound funny, but the technology shiny object syndrome is a real thing in construction companies and wastes time, money, and people’s energy,” Goggin said. “The good news is that it doesn’t have to happen—and the finance leader is the right person to save the day.”
According to Goggin, in this world of “digital transformation,” if construction companies are all over the place when it comes to tech and software investments—and do not have a clear strategy or plan for how technology will support the business objectives—then they will find it difficult to succeed.
During the session, Goggin will share a proven approach for how to ensure a company is on the right path to becoming a connected construction organization. Participants will walk away with ideas to implement, and share with their leaders, and gain tangible tools to make transformation less stressful and more successful.
