Last year, I noticed that the city of Bellevue stenciled bicycles on each side of 161st Avenue SE near the Spiritridge neighborhood. I am assuming they were placed there so drivers would know that there was a possibility that a cyclist would come by.
My guess is that the average person with half a brain would certainly know when a cyclist was present. I called city to find out the cost to taxpayer for the bicycle stencils. I was told the cost was $14,000.
It seems to me that that money could have been used more efficiently.
