I recently saw Sound Transit Board Member Claudia Balducci on TV pushing for Sound Transit 3. The project list is expected to come with a price tag of $15 billion, in the form of a tax increase on families in King County.

That is why I was concerned when Balducci couldn’t explain how the final project list would be chosen. I am afraid that Balducci will support any project without considering the negative impacts it could have on our communities.

I want to be confident that ST3 will include a carefully considered list of projects that reflect the actual transit needs of our communities. If Claudia Balducci doesn’t know how projects are picked, how do we trust her when she says they will work?
