I agree with Mr. Sussman’s letter appearing in the Oct. 28 issue relative to Vicki Orrico’s plan.
True to her remarks quoted in the Reporter’s Oct. 10 issue she favors a transit plan the will bury downtown Bellevue in a traffic mess that will never end. 112th Avenue is a primary ingress and egress used by those that work and shop in downtown Bellevue. After the construction chaos, lasting three plus years, with the train running every six minutes or so the traffic will still be paralyzed.
In addition, the downtown neighborhoods will have to put up with the noise, inconvenience and extra traffic generated by the light rail on a city street. If she realizes her stated ambition to be a member of the Sound Transit board we can name the resulting traffic jam after her.
In contrast, Conrad Lee has always had the best interests of Bellevue at heart. His desire is to make light rail a good neighbor instead of a continuous nuisance. His skill as a manager of our resources and will keep Bellevue moving forward without incurring unwanted debt.
Remember that our tax burden is the lowest in the state.
