A recent briefing indicated it is not a matter of IF it is just WHEN there will be flooding in South King County. This winter it is likely the Kent Valley will be flooded when the Army Corps of Engineers release the levees to prevent the Howard Hansen Dam from breaking.
It sounds like our own Katrina situation will occur in south King County.
The state predicts power and gas outages and sewer backups throughout South King County. This will be awful, if it happens. This flooding will exact a terrible cost on everyone in the community.
The state and county should fix this dam before we are all under water.
