I laud Washington state Attorney General Bob Ferguson for his courageous stand upholding the Constitution and working to get Donald Trump’s travel ban halted, but I believe the bulk of the work is ahead of us. Judge Robart, whose opinion halted the ban, is being attacked by President Trump openly and in a vile manner. An independent judiciary is truly the last bulwark against encroaching dictatorship and we must — all of us — work tirelessly to ensure that members of the judiciary remain not only independent, but unprovoked by the administration.

Irrespective of which side of the aisle any of us is on, we just realize that too late is too late. If the judiciary is forced to buckle, then game over for the America we know and the rule of law that should define our society.
