In response to the Aug. 1 letter, “Keep diatribes out of paper” by Dick Chapin, who should be more welcome to contribute his opinion to your readers than a “local well-known Republican?”

My wife and I loved the letter, “Don’t confuse conservatism with anarchy by Gary McGavran so much we clipped it and will send copies to all our conservative friends. Right on Mr. McGavran.

If Mr. Chapin (the former GOP legislator) does not like to read conservative opinion, he should subscribe to the Seattle Times or tune in to NPR, PBS, NBC, MSNBC where he will always find some great liberal diatribes.

We encourage the editor of the Bellevue Reporter to continue to offer writers like Mcgavran and Carlson.
