When will government ever learn to live within their means? While the Bellevue School District can claim they have not raised the tax levy rate in the last few years, the bottom line is the appraised value of property has risen so fast they are still taking in 11 percent more money in 2017 than they did in 2015.
I doubt many of the readers of this paper were making 11 percent more over this time frame. Now they want to pass three levies prior to fully understanding the state’s funding and without trying to find the money from the natural increases due to property appreciation in their district boundaries.
We need to say no and send a message they need to prioritize their spending better before we even consider more increases.
