Tom the better choice to Senate seat

Thank you for Josh Hicks’ analysis of the race for State Senate in the 48th Legislative District.

Sen. Rodney Tom, whom Hicks describe as holding a powerful position on the Senate Ways and Means Committee, has worked tirelessly to pick up the pieces from an economy that is the result of eight years of devastating national Republican leadership and policies.

Candidate Gregg Bennett, whom Hicks describe as a political newcomer, has the endorsement of the Republican establishment led by Attorney General Rob McKenna. McKenna’s most recent actions would leave Washington state citizens left out in the cold in regard to the benefits of the newly passed health care measure.

I regularly read Senator Tom’s newsletter in which he describes the work that goes on in the state capitol to help the state weather this economic downturn with the least negative impact on our most vulnerable citizens. I strongly urge everyone to vote for Senator Tom because of his commitment to a fairer tax structure, a climate that provides good jobs and spends our tax money on education and other programs that enhance our community.
