The King County Council should address the county budget, and potentially critical cuts in county jobs and services, with “bold and equitable action.” (Fred Jarrett)
Start to run the county as a business, comparable to every other business. Consider the health care costs and ask the employees to pay a portion as many other businesses in the county do today. There should be equity between the employers, especially in pay and benefits. Every county job should be compensated comparable to a job in a business and the benefits should also be comparable.
County employees should be paid no more than the taxpayers who pay their salaries.
