The headline on the article describing Kevin Wallace’s light rail plan nicely sums up the problem with that plan: “New Light Rail Plan Avoids Downtown Core.”
While Wallace may view that as a benefit, the whole point of light rail is to conveniently access the destinations where people work, live and shop.
Downtown Bellevue is the Eastside’s largest concentration of jobs and retail, and increasingly housing. The Bellevue light rail line must access the downtown core.
Wallace’s plan is dead on arrival.
