Regarding the letter, “We don’t need Ohio policies in our state”: Gov. Ted Strickland was governor during the economic collapse of 2008. I don’t think it’s appropriate to blame him for job losses. Neither he nor Gregoire (President Bush) could have done anything about Wall Street, nor the tightening of credit or loss of demand that followed.
In fact, Ohio’s unemployment figures were about the same as Washington and the rest of the country during this period.
