I heard that oil companies having been pumping oil from the waters off Louisiana since 1982 if not earlier. Can someone tell me why Louisiana is one of the poorest states in the union with all that oil off its coast? Who is the money going to?

By contrast Norway, which has lots of oil, is the richest country in Europe. They even have a multi-billion dollar

trust fund they are saving so future generations can benefit for it.

It doesn’t seem the average person here is benefitting very much from all that oil.
