The Bellevue Botanical Garden will present “Art in the Garden,” Aug. 25-26, featuring work by 25 Northwest artists. The show is open to the public and admission is free. The event is from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. both days.

Special events at the show this year include an appearance by Ciscoe Morris at 1 p.m. Saturday.

In addition, Bellevue Art & Frame will provide an interactive printmaking project for kids of all ages both days from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

At the show, visitors will find artwork and artists sprinkled throughout the garden.

“We love to show the artwork in the natural setting of the garden,” commented show producer Gayle Picken, “it’s a fun way for people to enjoy the art and get an idea of what it would look like in their own garden at home.”

The show features a wide range of outdoor art, from whimsical fused glass garden ornaments, to functional benches and lighting, to blown glass floats and bird baths, and large scale sculpture made of metal and wood. Artists from as far away as Camano Island and Sedro Woolley to Olympia and Portland, Oregon are involved in the show this year.

“We’re also very excited to be part of the “Rookery” project from Issaquah’s ArtEast art center,” added Picken. “A selection of their artist-made herons that have been traveling throughout the state this summer will ‘land’ at the Bellevue Botanical Garden that weekend for the show.”

All artwork is available for purchase and proceeds benefit the garden. For more information and a preview of the art, see www.BellevueArtintheGarden.com.
