Washington Cathedral’s new Recreation Center in Redmond houses a zero-entry swimming pool on the northeast corner of the facility. A zero entry pool has a “beach-front” entry, which allows a person to walk or wheel themselves directly into the water.
With a 4-foot depth across the entire surface, the pool was specifically designed for helping those who need to regain their physical strength in a non weight-bearing manner.
Vicky Eblen, a nationally certified land and water exercise instructor, is teaching an adult water exercise class which is open to the public each Monday through Thursday at the Cathedral pool. The class hours are: Monday and Wednesday, 11-11:50 a.m.; Tuesday and Thursday, 9-9:50 a.m. Each class is $5. Pre-registration is not needed. There are four changing rooms with showers and toilets in the pool room and people only to need to bring their own towel.
