“Archetypes and Lucky Charms” by Bellevue artist Deborah Scott, will be on display in the exhibition space of the Georgetown Arts and Cultural Center in Seattle from August 14 through September 10. An artist reception will be held from 6-9 p.m. August 14.

Scott’s work combines individual portraiture with universal archetypes.

“I find it fascinating that we each have experiences that are unique, deeply personal, yet somehow understood by many.  For me universal archetypes encapsulate this idea,” Scott said. “Our unique life experiences are at once timeless and contemporary. I want my work to capture that.”

Scott left her career as a global brand marketer for Amazon.com and General Mills to pursue her passion as a painter. She studied painting full-time from 2007-2010 in the Painting and Drawing Atelier at Gage Academy of Art in Seattle. Prior to Gage, she studied for three years with Seattle artist and painter Victor Sandblom.

Scott shows her work in the Seattle area.

The Georgetown Arts and Cultural Center is located at 5511 Airport Way S in Georgetown.
