The documentary “Closure” will screen in the Bellevue City Hall Council Chambers at 6:30 p.m. July 18, to be followed by a questions panel with the director and star.

“Closure” follows Angela Tucker, an African-American woman raised by a Caucasian couple in a large multiracial family, as she searches for her birth family. The movie was filmed, edited and directed by Tucker’s husband, Bryan Tucker.

“I did not have any knowledge about adoption prior to meeting Angela, but over time I became convinced that this story could educate and encourage others towards older-child adoption, yet also show the struggles within adoption at the same time,” Bryan Tucker wrote in a statement on the film’s website. “Transracial adoption is a hot topic in American society today. Is it best to pluck a child out of their culture and place them in a drastically different one? Maybe, maybe not – but the complexity lies within the fact that sometimes there isn’t another choice.”
