The “Experience Dance Project,” sponsored by the city of Bellevue, will host a series of free lecture/demonstrations on Reading Dance.
The lectures will discuss how dance is choreographed. Some participants will then be given an opportunity to choreograph on professional dancers and test their own creativity.
There are also free open level modern dance classes (youth to adult) which follow in subsequent days. All lectures/classes are being presented by award-winning and local choreographer Eva Stone, Artistic Director of The Stone Dance Collective.
‘Reading Dance’ lecture/demonstration will be held:
Jan. 22, 6:30 p.m., Highland Community Center
Jan. 24, 11 a.m., Northwest Arts Center
Jan. 24, 1:30 p.m., Crossroads Community Center
Open modern dance classes (youth to adult):
Jan. 29, 6:30 p.m., Highland Community Center
Jan. 31, 11:30 a.m., Northwest Arts Center
Jan. 31, 1:30 p.m., Crossroads Community Center
The classes are designed not only to support and expand the community’s understanding and awareness of local art, but also to give an opportunity to see how it is created, expressed and ultimately relevant to their own lives here on the Eastside.
