David Meister holds his breath every time the limo doors open and the high heels belonging to an A-list celebrity step onto the Red Carpet at a star-studded event.
The American designer lives for the moment he can exhale at the sight of one of his gowns gliding down the Red Carpet, worn by celebrities like Diane Lane, Sharon Stone and Tina Fey.
For the past 12 years, Meister has designed dresses and evening wear for celebrities, socialites, and the every day woman.
Meister left his home in LA and his design studio in New York this past week and made his way to our rainy city to mingle with shoppers at Neiman Marcus in Bellevue and to show off his fall collection. The Reporter had the chance to sit down with the designer to discuss the glamour and gossip behind the yards of fabric.
Describe your designs… I believe a dress that is well designed carries a sense of timelessness. It should be flattering and comfortable. I believe in clean lines, shape and fit.
Favorite celebrity you’ve dress… Sharon Stone, because she has such an elegance about her. She carries herself so well and has an amazing sense of style.
Tips for the Holiday season… It’s no longer the little black dress. It’s the major black dress. This year is about making a statement. Also, one shoulder is in. It’s no longer a trend, but another option that is very flattering.
