Emerald Ballet Theatre (EBT) presents “The Nutcracker” at 2 p.m., Dec. 3, 4, 10 and 11 at the Northshore Performing Arts Center in Bothell. All performances will feature the Rainier Symphony Orchestra with David Waltman conducting.
Now in its fifth season, Bellevue-based EBT brings this Christmas ballet tradition to life with live music, costumes, sets and choreography. Artistic director Viktoria Titova, formerly a ballerina with the Bolshoi Theatre Grigorovich Company, draws on this rich Russian tradition for EBT’s show.
More than 175 students from Emerald Ballet Academy will dance professional guest artists, including Russian ballerina, Tatiana Liabina, who will appear as the Sugar Plum Fairy the first weekend with Alexander Loxton, formerly of the Dutch National Ballet; and the second weekend, Ballet West’s Stephen King and and Whitney Huell.
Tickets are $20 for youth, $30 for seniors and $35 for adults.
