Evergreen City Ballet will present its second annual family performance series featuring “Fancy Nancy” and “Peter and The Wolf.”

Based on the popular book “Fancy Nancy: Bonjour Butterfly,” by author Jane O’Connor and illustrator Robin Preiss Glasser, the original ballet is considered a good way to introduce ballet to young audiences. ECB will be presenting the West Coast premiere of the ballet and will perform in Bellevue for the first time in its 16 year history.

Glasser, illustrator of the entire “Fancy Nancy” series and herself a former professional ballerina, will be at all Bellevue performances, to autograph books and meet all the Fancy Nancy’s of the Puget Sound.

Also on the program is “Peter and The Wolf. With a score by Prokofiev, it tells the tale of Peter and his friends The Cat, The Duck and The Bird.

“Peter and The Wolf” was choreographed by John Wilkins and originally staged by Olympic Ballet Theatre.

Performances will be Feb. 26 and 27 at 1:30 and 5:30 p.m.

Tickets are $10 children and $18 for adults. To order call 1-800-899-9260 or go on line at www.evergreencityballet.org.
