Grammy Award-winning vocal jazz group New York Voices will perform in concert March 24 on a bill that also features Bellevue College’s Celebration! vocal jazz ensemble.
Sponsored by the Bellevue College Music Department, the “Vocal Jazz Night” event begins at 7:30 p.m. at Newport High School’s 600-seat Performing Arts Center, 4333 Factoria Blvd., SE., in Bellevue.

Pre-paid tickets through Brown paper tickets will be held at the Newport High School Performing Arts Center box office, to be claimed between 6 and 7 p.m. the night of the performance. Tickets not claimed by 7:15 p.m. may be cancelled and resold.
Now celebrating their 20th anniversary, New York Voices has two Grammy Awards and six CDs to their credit. Their style is rooted in jazz, but Brazilian, rhythm and blues, classical and pop influences are infused with equal creativity. The group has appeared on the stages of Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, The Kennedy Center, The Blue Note (Japan, NYC), The Austria Opera House and The Zurich Opera House, among many others.
Bellevue College’s Celebration! Vocal Jazz Ensemble is a nationally acclaimed award winning group, including multiple invitations to perform at the International Association for Jazz Education Conferences, The American Choral Directors Conferences and the Music Educator National Conference conventions. They have won multiple 1st place awards at The Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival, The Santa Cruz Jazz Festival, University of Nevada, Reno Jazz Festival and the Monterey Jazz Festival. Celebration has performed at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, The Superdome (New Orleans), Staples Center, and Benaroya Hall.
The 20-member Celebration Vocal Jazz Ensemble is directed by Bellevue College Music Department Chairman Thomas Almli.
