Information sessions set on new ballet

Dante’s Inferno: The Ballet, with all-original music and choreography, will have its world premiere in four performances Feb. 21-23 at the Meydenbauer Center in Bellevue.

 

Dante’s Inferno: The Ballet, with all-original music and choreography, will have its world premiere in four performances Feb. 21-23 at the Meydenbauer Center in Bellevue.This ballet was two years in the making and includes new music, dancing and hand-crafted masks.

To prepare people for the ballet, Burmer Music is partnering with King County Library System to present two free public events at Bellevue Library.

A presentation at 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 30, 7 p.m. will give people a sneak peek of ballet highlights and hear how composer Glenna Burmer and choreographer Ronald Tice brought the literary work to the stage.

At 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 17, Dr. Claudio Mazzola, senior lecturer in Italian Studies at the University of Washington, will discuss Dante and his world.
