Interlake High School will host “A Taste of Music,” an evening concert and dessert night to raise money for the school orchestra’s planned trip to New York next May.
The event will be held from 6:45-8:45 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 22.
The event will be hosted by long-time Seattle radio personality Gigi Yellen, former host of 98.1 KING FM’s weeknight classical music program whose radio career has spanned such places as Houston, Washington D.C., and New York. Performers will include Calvin Chan, a cellist in the Everett Philharmonic Orchestra and principal cellist in the Interlake High School Orchestral; Simon Kim, a local violin teacher who has taught at the New England Conservatory and played in the San Diego and Honolulu symphony orchestras and has studied under the world-famous violinist Jascha Heifetz; and Ji Youn, a graduate of the prestigious Eastman School of Music and principal cellist at the Bucheon Philharmonic Orchestra from 1994-1999 as well as an acclaimed soloist who has played in cities throughout South Korea.
Door prizes and raffles will be held. Free desserts and Starbucks coffee will also be offered during intermission.

Prices are $5 per ticket for students and $8 per ticket for adults (pairs of adult tickets cost $15). The school is located at 16245 NE 24th St., Bellevue.
