New dancers, repertory announced for PNB’s 2011-12 season | Entertainment

Changes are coming to Pacific Northwest Ballet in the form of a few brand-new dancers.

Changes are coming to Pacific Northwest Ballet in the form of a few brand-new dancers.

When the company returned to the rehearsal studios this week, they were joined by Leta Biasucci, formerly of Oregon Ballet Theatre, Elizabeth Murphy, formerly of Ballet West, and Matthew Renko, formerly of New York City Ballet, as the newest members of the corps de ballet. Additionally, two new apprentices will join the company in mid-September: Steven Loch and Sarah Pasch, both of whom were most recently two-year members of the PNB School Professional Division.

Additional hires and promotions will be announced at a later date.

The new dancers join PNB for the 2011-12 season, which includes the following in its repertory:

“All Wheeldon”

Sept. 23 – Oct. 2

“Love Stories”

Nov. 4 – 13.

“Nutcracker.”

Nov. 25-Dec. 27.

“Don Quixote.”

Feb. 3-12.

“New Works.”

March 16-24.

“Snow White.”

March 17,18 and 25.

“Apollo Carmina.”

April 13-22.

“Coppelia.”

June 1-10.

Additionally, “Season Encore Performance” June 10, “A Day of Dance,” June 16 and “Next Step,” July 18 will be performed will be offered in addition to PNB’s subscription season.
