Northwest Ladies Golf Association starts season with spring social on March 18

Women golfers and those who are interested in playing are invited to the “spring social” of the Northwest Ladies Golf Association (NLGA). The event, scheduled for Thursday, March 18 at Overlake Golf & Country Club in Medina, marks the official launch of the 2010 season for the nonprofit organization.

Activities get under way at 6 p.m. with no-host cocktails, followed by a dinner buffet, program, guest speaker and prizes. Along with introducing NLGA’s leadership team, various officers and committee chairs will overview the activities planned for the 2010 season. The offerings include leagues, weekend outings, “stay-and-play getaways,” tournaments, membership socials and clinics for beginning and intermediate players.

Also included on the program is special guest speaker Camille Surdi, instructor at Interbay Golf Center in Seattle and a Class A member of the LPGA Teaching & Club Professional Division. The former owner Tampa Bay Golf Academy teaches all levels of golfers. Among her successful students are numerous high school players, mini-tour players and NFL players

Reservations for the NLGA spring social are due by March 12 and may be made online. The $40 fee includes the dinner buffet with wine.
