With a fiery personality and plenty of East Coast panache, Jennifer Bloom paints custom portraits of people and pets that capture the distinctive personalities of her subjects, both creature and human. Surrounded by luscious backgrounds and interiors, the setting and the subjects meld into one-of-a-kind artistic statements for each client.

Bloom’s show, “Array de Peinture” features portraits from her personal collection and will be on display March 9 to April 24 at Pogacha of Issaquah, 120 NW Gilman Blvd. The show will move to Pogacha of Bellevue, 119 106th Ave NE, on April 24 and will run through June 5.

Her work is currently featured at Urban Dog at Bellevue Square.

Bloom paints acrylic on canvas, using the impasto style, which creates an oil-like look, but is better for the environment. Areas of the works are very thick with paint, creating an almost molded appearance to the pieces. Bloom’s style has been described as distinctive with a traditional approach. She uses a combination of vivid color and texture to bring her paintings to life and to capture the character of her subjects.

In addition to animal-inspired works, Bloom’s personal collection includes scenic paintings of places where she has traveled, as well as chili peppers, florals and interiors. All will be available for purchase at the Pogacha shows.

Bloom will also take orders for custom portraits and will offer a 10 percent discount to Pogacha customers. Custom paintings start at $600.
