The most successful exhibition in Seattle’s history will make a return this month as BODIES … The Exhibition opens in downtown Seattle for a five-month run.
The exhibition provides the public an opportunity to see inside carefully preserved, real anatomical specimens and learn the detailed structure and function of the human body.
Several galleries provide an up-close look inside the skeletal, muscular, reproductive, respiratory, circulatory and other systems of the human body. Many of the full-body specimens are dissected in vivid athletic poses, allowing the visitor to relate to everyday activities.
In addition, authentic human specimens illustrate the damage caused to organs by over-eating and lack of exercise. A healthy lung is featured next to a black lung ravaged by smoking.
The exhibition will be open daily from 9 a.m. – 8 p.m and will run through March, 2010 at 1505 5th Avenue (Corner of 5th Ave. and Pike).
Nearly 300,000 visitors experienced “BODIES” during its highly successful 2006/2007 run, often generating sellout crowds as well as a month-long extension. Tickets will be available via online, phone and walkup starting Oct. 13. Tickets range in cost from $10-$19.
