With the recent downshift in the economy, many condo projects around Bellevue have slowed down or delayed construction.
Others have continued to push forward despite the uncertain times.
One is The Park West, a five-unit boutique condominium complex located directly across from Bellevue Downtown Park on 100th Avenue Northeast. The condominium homes sit on the edge of the Lockleven neighborhood, a stretch of homes that capture the essence of old Bellevue and community.
“My family first moved to this neighborhood back in the early 1940s when the downtown park was fields with a windmill and a school house,” said Melanie Bruch of Coldwell Banker Bain. “What I love about this neighborhood is the duel location. It’s close enough to downtown but set apart from the noise and the traffic. Lockleven holds so much history. It’s a very special place.”
What makes The Park West appealing, said Bruch, are the three-sided views in every unit. The main floor units have outdoor patios on both the North and the South end. The units average 1,130 square feet with a spacious layout including a Great Room, two bedrooms, two baths, an electric fireplace, and slab granite counter tops in the kitchen area.
There are two units per floor with a two-story penthouse on the third and forth floor.
“Everyone in this area is feeling the effects of the economy but we have noticed a particular increase in activity during the past two weeks,” Bruch explained. “It’s an encouraging sign because people seem to be back in the mode of buying. There’s a huge increase in showings and sales. It’s definitely a step forward.”
Bruch will be hosting an open house on Saturday and Sunday, May 23 and May 24 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. For a private showing call 206.669.3501.
