TV design star Tracy Huston stopped by Bellevue’s own Greenbaum’s Home Furnishings on July 23 as part of a competition presented by Guardsman’s Stop Cleaning. Start Caring campaign.
A leading furniture care and repair company, Guardsman recently asked consumers to share a story about their favorite piece of furniture for the chance to win $1,500 room re-accessorizing and shopping experience with Huston; Everett resident, Kristin Lucken, was the lucky winner.
Lucken’s story was a bout a stellar Craig’s List find she made a few months back.
“I got married last year and I had boxes and boxes of china I needed to store,” Lucken said.
After months of searching for the perfect storage piece, Lucken settled on a modern, dark mahogany buffet hutch she found for a bargain featured on the site.
“It was only a couple hundred dollars and it was exactly what I was looking for,” Lucken said.
As part of her prize, Lucken spent the morning shopping with Huston at several stores in Bellevue. The goal? To find the perfect accessories to complement the buffet hutch now sitting in the living room of Lucken’s Everett home.
When the Bellevue Reporter caught up with the pair, they were busy searching for decorative pillows to complement Lucken’s monochromatic living space.
“There a great way to show off color and texture,” Huston said.
The pair found the perfect inspiration for the room in a pair of pillows featuring a periwinkle blue embroidered bird – the same color Huston was hoping to incorporate in the window treatments.
