The holidays are coming to Downtown Issaquah, and you’re invited!
Known for its historic charm and vibrant arts scene, Downtown Issaquah is drawing diners, shoppers, and adventure seekers this holiday season. The community offers a blend of unique dining, artisan shopping and cultural experiences, making it a standout destination.
“This is where food becomes art, shopping feels like discovery and one of the region’s premier musical theaters is just steps away,” says Christina Bruning, president of the Downtown Issaquah Association.
The holiday season in Issaquah comes with abundant experiences. Visitors can enjoy dining, shopping for handcrafted gifts or catching a show, followed by immersive activities like glassblowing at Art By Fire, indulging in confections at Boehm’s Candies, exploring global teas at Experience Tea or taking a wine class at Capri Cellars.
“The holidays in Downtown Issaquah have something for everyone,” Bruning says “Our rich arts and culture scene creates a magical backdrop for celebrating the season in all its diverse forms.”
Alison Lang, owner of So, there and curator of the Historic Shell Holiday Shop, said the space will be filled with décor, gifts and stationery from more than 45 local artists and makers, including a many items that have been made in Issaquah.
“Issaquah’s arts scene is truly special, and I’m proud to showcase it at the Holiday Shop,” Lang said. “You won’t find gifts like these anywhere else.”
Holiday Festivities
Downtown Issaquah’s lineup of events features activities for all ages, including:
- Where to Find Santa and Mrs Claus!
- Historic Shell Holiday Shop: Open Friday through Sunday from Nov. 29 to New Year’s Day, showcasing artisan crafts and locally made gifts.
- Historically Hip Artisan Market: Held Dec. 14 and 15 at Pickles Playland, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Farm Fresh Market: Local farmers share their goods from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays through Dec. 7 at the Historic Shell.
- Issaquah Holiday Shopping Guide: Available in-person or online, this curated guide offers gift ideas such as decorative platters, bespoke art and cozy, practical throws.
- Yuletide on Front: Celebrate Winter Solstice Make Music Day on Dec. 21 with festive crafts, music, and activities from 1:30 to 7 p.m.
- Caroling at the Depot: Join this Issaquah tradition at the Issaquah Depot Museum, with Santa and Mrs. Claus available for photos.
- Village Theater: Legally Blonde, The Musical runs through Dec. 22, bringing a fun and fashionable story from the sorority house to the halls of justice.
- Big Picture: Don’t miss Wicked on the big screen, a cinematic adaptation of the beloved musical, showing through Dec. 10.
