Act Two Guild raises 30K for PACE

The Act Two Guild for PACE raised more than 30K at the Silhouettes of Style 2009 Luncheon and Fashion Show in support of the Star Lounge.

Silhouettes of Style 2009 Luncheon and Fashion Show brought the arts to center stage. The luncheon and fashion show sold out, seating 380 guests for a sneak peak at the fresh collections of spring fashion and in celebration of the arts.

The inaugural event presented by the Act Two Guild for the Performing Arts Center Eastside (PACE) was an inspiring success, raising $30,285 in support of the Star Lounge Furnishings Fund.

Performing Arts Center Eastside (PACE), a 2,000-seat premier center for the performing arts, is scheduled to open in 2012 in downtown Bellevue at the corner of NE 10th Street and 106th Avenue NE. PACE will welcome the first nationally and internationally acclaimed music, theatre, and dance to audiences east of Lake Washington. The mission of PACE is to enrich Eastside cultural life with a wide diversity of live entertainment, arts, and education.

“The city is booming and we need a theater on the Eastside,” said Event Co-Chair Kim Hardwick. “This is what Bellevue needs- a place to go on a Friday night that promotes culture and the arts.”

Held at the Westin in Bellevue, Silhouettes of Style featured the latest fashions from The Bellevue Collection and introduced PACE to the community. The Bellevue Collection generously donated the fashion show, underwriting the cost of nearly $60,000. A Fund-A-Need presentation was given by John Haynes, PACE Executive Director and CEO, and Theresa Goesling, the Act Two Guild President and local artist.

“PACE will feature world class musicians and artists, producing performances that can touch our hearts and bring us together as a community,” Haynes said.

The luncheon and fashion show raised funding for the Star Lounge, a private lounge in which donors and patrons can interact with artists and entertainers behind-the-scenes. The Star Lounge will also serve as an exclusive meeting space where small groups can gather for lectures, workshops, and events.

“I wanted to help create the Act Two Guild for PACE because I love the arts,” Goesling said. “This is a group of young women who are passionate about this project and want to make others aware of the true value of what PACE will bring to Bellevue.”
