A pet was adopted every 2½ minutes at Super Pet Adopt-a-thon held June 21 at the King County Animal Shelter in Kent.
In addition, 139 dogs and cats get new forever homes
Pet seekers formed a long line even before the doors opened hoping for the best chance at the animals from 15 animal shelters and rescue organizations from across Washington.
Besides the numerous adoptions at the event, King County Animal Care and Control volunteers organized hourly raffle drawings and a silent auction which raised $1,172 for the shelter’s Angel Fund. The fund provides veterinary care for abused, sick and injured animals at the county shelter or in foster care.
