Affordable home repairs available to Bellevue residents

The Senior Services Minor Home Repair Program offers low- to moderate-income homeowners an affordable way to make home repairs and to reduce heating and water bills.

The program also is available to disabled homeowners and renters in Bellevue who also qualify for installation of metal wheelchair ramps, grab bars and handrails.

Qualified plumbers and carpenters will make repairs on leaky pipes and faucets, clogged drains, broken steps, rotted and unsafe porches. Technicians also will replace defective toilets and sinks and install smoke detectors.

“Our primary goal is to provide critical repairs and installations that improve safety, livability and convenience for qualified homeowners and renters,” said Ed Cabellero, Minor Home Repair program manager. “Our highly trained staff makes plumbing, carpentry and disability access modifications at an extremely low cost.”

To qualify, single residents must have a monthly income of $3,588 or less. Couples with combined incomes of $4,100 or less are eligible. At most, qualified homeowners will pay a $10 per hour labor charge and receive all materials at cost.
