The Amica Hit Zone blasted one out of the park for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Bellevue, as Amica presented the organization with $13,000 – $10 for each hit by the Seattle Mariners so far this season.

Amica launched the Amica Hit Zone in partnership with FSN Northwest, which broadcasts the Mariners games. It showed a simulated strike zone, indicating where a particular batter had the best – or worst – chance of getting a hit, based on where the ball was thrown.

As part of the promotion, Amica also pledged to give the Boys & Girls Clubs of Bellevue $10 for each hit recorded by the Mariners.

Kate Leavitt and Lindsey Eastwood from Amica’s Seattle office presented the check to Kathy Haggart, CEO of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Bellevue.

“We’re glad the Amica Hit Zone was such a hit for the local Boys & Girls Clubs,” said Becky Reisinger, branch manager of Amica’s Seattle’s branch. “We’re pleased to present this check to such a worthy organization.”

The Boys & Girls Club was thrilled, too, Haggart said. “We have a long history in Bellevue, as we have been serving youth and families on the Eastside for 58 years. This donation will serve the thousands of members who participate at one or more of our 13 Clubs throughout Bellevue.”

Amica Mutual Insurance Company, the nation’s oldest mutual insurer of automobiles, was founded in 1907.
