Baby Basics Bellevue, an all-volunteer nonprofit, is organizing a communitywide diaper drive through the month of May. The goal is two-fold: to raise awareness in Bellevue of the on-going need for diapers for low-income families, and to provide diapers to families in the Baby Basics program.

The organization notes that there are no government subsidies for diapers. Also, food stamps and WIC cannot be used to purchase diapers.

Diapers in sizes 4, 5 and 6 are especially needed.

Throughout May, diapers can be dropped off at:

Chace’s Pancake House, 1606 Bellevue Way SE;

Bellevue Boys & Girls Clubs – five locations including Downtown Bellevue, Cherry Crest, Bennett, Crossroads and South Bellevue;

Samena Swim and Recreation Club, 15231 Lake Hills Blvd., Bellevue;

Kindercare, 10733 Northup Way, Bellevue; and

Bikram Hot Yoga, 909 112th Ave. NE, Bellevue.

Diapers also can be dropped on May 11 and 18 at Northtowne QFC, and Bellevue Square QFC.

Diapers can be dropped off on Mother’s Day, May 12, at First Presbyterian Church of Bellevue, 1717 Bellevue Way NE.
