The King Conservation District is taking orders for a variety of native trees and shrubs for conservation purposes such as wildlife habitat, windbreaks, hedgerows, reforestation and stream enhancement.

The plants are bareroot stock which means they do not come in pots or burlap bags, but are harvested from the field in winter when the plants are dormant and ready to be replanted.

Preorders are available through Feb. 9 through the district’s website: http://www.kingcd.org. Walk-up sale of plants and pre-order pickup will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 1 in the west parking lot at the district’s office, 1107 SW Grady Way, Renton.

More information is available at 425-282-1912 or by email to jacobus.saperstein@kingcd.org.
