Demolition of the Barrier Porsche dealership began on the 11000 block of Northeast Eighth Street on Tuesday.
T.J. Woosley tells the Reporter “it’s the end of an era,” his father, Hal Woosley, having bought the property back in 1967. The Brierwood Center Woosley’s father built nearby remains today.
Before it was Barrier Porsche, the southwest corner was home to Brenner Brothers Bakery, which bought the property in 1970. T.J. Woosley describes the former bakery as an ‘Eastside icon for about 30 years’ before it was bought by Barrier.
The building is being demolished and cleared to make way for the city of Bellevue’s expansion of 120th Avenue Northeast.
