Bellevue Community College’s Center for Career Connections will offer five free, public workshops this winter on career planning and job-hunting:
Networking & the Hidden Job Market: Tapping Into Unadvertised Jobs will be offered from 10:30-11:20 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 10, 10:30-11:20 a.m. More than 60 percent of all job openings are not advertised. This workshop teaches how networking strategies can help you find them.
Salary Negotiation will be from 12:30-2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25. The session will teach non-confrontational strategies that can add significant money to a person’s lifetime career earnings.
Cover Letter Review is set from 10:30-11:20 a.m. Thursday,Feb. 26. Join this workshop to learn about cover letters, letters of inquiry and self-marketing letters and how to use them to be more competitive in the job market.
Are you LinkedIn? will be offered from 1:30-2:20 p.m. Tuesday, March 3. More than 10 million people are using online networking sites, such as LinkedIn, for career management, job search and recruitment. This workshops covers what recruiters say about LinkedIn and how job-seekers can use it to generate more interest.
Do More Than Survive, Make a Difference through Your Work will be offered 10:30 a.m. to 12:20 p.m. on Thursday, March 12. This workshop explores ways a person can make a difference in their current or future life and work, including sustainable careers.
