Following a discussion with King County and Kirkland leaders in December about plans to expand the South Kirkland Park-and-Ride, the Bellevue City Council on Monday approved a set of mutual objectives and principles.
Bellevue has an interest in the project because the seven-acre property is at the north edge of the city, just north of SR 520.
The site is divided by the Bellevue-Kirkland boundary, with about half the facility in each city. Plans call for expanding the current 600 parking spaces by about 250 spaces and creating approximately 200 housing units.
