The Bellevue Arts Museum announced the election of eight new members to its Board of Trustees in 2009.

The BAM board is now comprised of 28 members with a diverse mix of business leaders, community volunteers and artists. The board works to foster the Museum’s mission as the Pacific Northwest’s center for the exploration of art, craft and design.

Seven members were re-elected to new terms.

“I’m excited to welcome new members to our board, and I’d like to thank those who have renewed their commitment to the Museum,” said Susan Edelheit, President of the Board of Trustees. “We look forward to the expertise and passion that each of them bring to the Museum. Together we will continue to increase the community’s access to exciting contemporary and traditional art, craft and design through exhibits, artist demonstrations and other educational programs.”

The eight new board members, elected to a three-year term, are:

Donna Barnett: Attorney, Perkins Coie

Sabrina Knowles: Artist

Donna Lutkewitte: CPA, Norris Lutkewitte PLLC

Martha Monfried: Director of Corporate Communications, Puget Sound Energy

Steve Peterson: CFO, GLY Construction

Jenny Pohlman: Artist

Samuel H. Smith: President Emeritus, Washington State University

Susan Teel: Attorney, Estate Planning
