The Boys & Girls Clubs of Bellevue will receive a $40,000 grant from the Employees Community Fund of the Boeing Company to upgrade technology in their after-school programs.
Boys & Girls Clubs of Bellevue currently operates 12 sites, serving more than 700 kids in after-school programs each day. The club offers programs in a number of core areas including technology.
“Keeping our computers current is critical to the success of our technology programming,” said Jim Foster, Director of Information Technology for Boys & Girls Clubs of Bellevue. “This gift from the employees at Boeing ensures that our members can develop skills using the most current hardware and software.”
Boys & Girls Clubs of Bellevue’s technology programs include Net Smartz, and internet safety curriculum, as well as both national and locally developed programs focusing on web development, music making, video production and digital artwork. The club has more than 150 computers available for members throughout its 12 locations.
